summer stems

Greetings! Can you believe this weekend marks the start of SEPTEMBER?! I, for one, cannot. But though I am in a state of denial about summer ending, the truth is I really love the fall most of all. I am so ready to feel a chill in the air, indulge in some delicious seasonal frothy coffees ;) and meet this baby girl!

Before I start waxing too poetic about my love for autumn though, I wanted to share some of my favorite blooms and arrangements from this summer! I say this every year but I really do wish Valentine’s Day or some other major floral holiday fell in the summer time. The flowers are so abundant and beautiful and with many DC folks on vacation or back in their home districts, it’s always a bit slower. But the flowers are so good!!!

Some of my favorite stems which you’ll see below: sunflowers, hydrangea, dahlias, zinnias, rudbeckia, celosia, lisianthus, sedum, mint, basil, kale, eucalyptus, scabiosa, ageratum, cosmos, and so much more. Sigh... let’s invent a summer holiday all about celebrating how pretty all the seasonal flowers are!

Wishing you a wonderful end to your summer and a beautiful start to your fall!

Xoxo,
Alix
