Last weekend Richard, Emma and I took a quick trip up to Long Island to see my family.
If you follow me on Instagram, you've already heard plenty about the baby rescue deer we got to meet that made my life complete! But besides hanging out with my new favorite little creatures (don't tell Emma) we also got to take a drive out east with my Mom and Grandma to do a little antiquing and flower shopping. First on the list was one of my favorite places on the island, Peconic River Herb Farm.
I have so many fond memories of going there as a kid. While I didn't quite appreciate all the pretty flowers just yet, I did appreciate the hidden zip line in the woods (which is still there!) and all the fun little cottages and sheds to explore. Nestled along the Peconic River, it's a gorgeous piece of property covered with flowers, herbs, antiques, seeds, gardening supplies, quaint picnic areas, canoes to rent... you name it! I picked up that sweet blue pitcher above and can't wait to fill it with fresh flowers on our kitchen counter.
Isn't it so dreamy?? My pictures don't really do the place justice - but there truly is something to discover around every corner.
Had to sneak that picture of my wonderful Mom in there :) While I don't really have the space or sunlight to garden yet, I love going and helping my Mom and Grandma fill the trunk of the car with blooms. It gives me all the best summertime vibes!
Holding just a small sampling of the days haul. Can't wait to go back to Long Island and see everything all planted!
