Hello and welcome
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm Alix and as you may have guessed, I have a pretty serious love of flowers. There's nothing better than a home filled with fresh stems - the beauty, the fragrance, and the memories they can evoke. I can't get enough!
In addition to all things floral, I'm also passionate about art, museums, and anything that gets my creative juices flowing. I studied Studio Art at The College of William & Mary and received my MA in Art History & Museum Studies from Georgetown University. I worked in galleries, museums, and now spend my days running a small flower shop in Washington, DC.
I started the Living with Petals blog as a little added creative outlet (because you can never have too many, right?) and later added a shop where you can purchase some of my original photography, paintings, and prints. Who doesn't love flowers that will never die? ;)
I currently live on the Hill with my husband Richard and our pup Emma. When not digging through flower buckets, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, exploring nearby small towns, binge watching some pretty terrible reality tv shows (it's true...), and spending time with friends & family.
I'm so glad you're here and I hope you enjoy!
